Terms of Service
The ground rules for using our website, your account and the Lumina tools, and for the products we sell.
Last updated · September 2026
01General & website use
These terms are used by JP Lumina (KVK 42139234); our address and contact details are on the contact page. They apply to the use of the JP Lumina website, to your account, to the Lumina tools (the Lumina Dex, Lumina Collection, Lumina Wishlist, the Lumina Binder, the Lumina Colouring Book and the Lumina DeckBuilder) and to every order placed through this website. By using our website, you agree to these terms.
We may change these terms. An order is governed by the terms you accepted when you placed it — the version is recorded with your order. For your account and the Lumina tools, a new version applies from the moment it is published on this site. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in advance; if you don't agree with it, you can close your account.
02Your account
- An account is personal. Keep your password to yourself; for extra security you can turn on two-step verification.
- Use an email address you keep reading: that's where we send your orders and invoices. We don't accept disposable email addresses.
- For some scarce items we ask for a verified account — for example a confirmed email address, an address, two-step verification, or an account that has existed for a while — and a per-household limit applies. If so, it says so with the item.
- We may block an account, or refuse or cancel an order, in case of abuse: for example several accounts or addresses to get around a limit, fraud, or repeatedly not paying or wrongly charging back a payment. If you have already paid, we refund you.
- You can close your account yourself at any time, in your account under Privacy.
03Ordering, payment and delivery
You order directly from us through this website. The agreement is concluded once we confirm your order by e-mail.
- Payment runs through Mollie: iDEAL, card and whichever other methods are enabled at the time. For large amounts, credit cards aren't available; you'll see this at checkout. We ship once the payment has arrived.
- Not paid? An order that isn't paid is cancelled after the payment period — seven days, or sooner if the payment at Mollie is aborted or expires. We'll let you know.
- Your cart: what you put in your cart is held for you for a short time (from ten minutes to an hour, depending on the item). After that, someone else can buy it.
- Discount codes: one code per order, not exchangeable for cash. The conditions — how long it is valid, a minimum amount, how often you can use it — are stated with the code.
- An item that turns out not to be available: if after your order an item can't be supplied or isn't in the described condition, we'll tell you, remove it from your order and refund it. The rest is shipped as normal.
- Obvious errors. If an item shows a price or description that is clearly wrong — an obvious mistake, such as a booster box for €10 — we are not obliged to supply it at that price or description, even if we have already confirmed your order. We'll let you know, cancel (that part of) the order and refund the full amount.
- Prices are in euros and include VAT. For second-hand cards we apply the Dutch margin scheme, in which case VAT is not shown separately on the invoice.
- Shipping costs are shown before you order, at checkout. We ship to the Netherlands, and to Belgium or Germany if that is offered at checkout.
- Delivery. We ship within two working days of receiving your payment. Within the Netherlands a parcel usually arrives the next working day. If delivery were to take longer than 30 days, you may cancel the order free of charge.
- Pre-orders. If we offer an item as a pre-order, the expected release date is shown with the item. A pre-order only becomes final — and your place in the queue is only secured — once it has been paid.
- Allocation. If the manufacturer or distributor supplies us with less than we ordered, we fulfil pre-orders in the order in which they were paid. If as a result we cannot supply your pre-order, or not all of it, we cancel (that part of) your order and refund the full amount within fourteen days. Because the cause then lies outside our control, we do not compensate any further damage.
- Pre-order together with an item in stock. If one order contains a pre-order and something that is already in stock, we ship everything together as soon as the pre-order arrives. If you want the in-stock item straight away, order it separately.
- Later than expected. If the release date moves, we'll let you know. If it becomes more than 30 days later than the date shown with the item, you may cancel the pre-order free of charge and get everything back.
- Busy moments and outages. Until we have confirmed your order by e-mail, there is no sale. If an order fails because of an outage, maintenance, heavy traffic at a new release or a dropped connection, you have no right to that item, nor to any compensation.
- Collection is not possible. JP Lumina is an online shop without a counter: every order is shipped.
- At a fair or event you can also buy from us and pay on the spot. You have seen the product yourself, so no cooling-off period applies to such a purchase — your warranty does, as usual.
04Right of withdrawal: 14 days
As a consumer buying at a distance you have fourteen days to change your mind. The period starts the day after you — or someone you nominated — received the order. You do not have to give a reason.
- Tell us within those fourteen days that you are withdrawing. The quickest way is in your account: your order has a Register a return button (the QR code on your packing slip takes you there). You can also use the model form below, the contact page, or a plain e-mail — as long as it is unambiguous.
- Return the product within fourteen days of that notice.
- Return postage is at your expense, unless we agree otherwise beforehand or the product arrived damaged or wrong.
- We refund within fourteen days of your notice, including the standard delivery charge you paid. We may wait until we have the product back, or until you show that you have sent it.
- We refund using the same payment method you used.
Sealed products. You may unpack a sealed product to see what it is, as you would in a shop. But breaking the factory seal substantially reduces the value of a collectible, and we are entitled to deduct that reduction from your refund. For an opened booster box or ETB that is a large part of the amount.
Single cards. The same applies if a card is damaged after being taken out of its sleeve and toploader.
You receive the return address by e-mail once you have registered your return. So please register your return first — then we know it is coming and it is handled faster.
05Model withdrawal form
You do not have to use this form — a clear e-mail is enough — but you may. Complete it and send it to [email protected]. By post is possible too: our address is on the contact page.
To: JP Lumina — [email protected]
- I/We hereby give notice that I/We withdraw from my/our contract of sale of the following goods: …
- Ordered on / received on: …
- Order number: …
- Name of consumer(s): …
- Address of consumer(s): …
- Signature of consumer(s) — only if this form is sent on paper
- Date: …
06Complaints
- Report a complaint about an order or a product within a reasonable time of discovering the problem, through the contact page or by e-mail.
- You will get an acknowledgement within two working days and a substantive reply within fourteen days. If we need longer, we will say so within those fourteen days and tell you when to expect an answer.
- If we cannot resolve it together, you may bring the dispute before the competent Dutch court. You can also seek free advice from Het Juridisch Loket.
07Pokémon TCG products (sealed & singles)
- Factory-sealed products: our sealed TCG products (such as Elite Trainer Boxes and Booster Boxes) are delivered factory-sealed. Any variation in the contents (such as card centering, misprints, or factory damage) is part of The Pokémon Company's manufacturing process and is not a fault on our side. If you buy as a consumer at a distance, your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal still applies — but because opening a sealed product significantly reduces its value, we may deduct that reduction in value from your refund.
- Single cards (singles): cards are carefully evaluated (e.g. Near Mint, Excellent). The condition is always stated with the product.
- Graded cards (slabs): the grade (e.g. PSA 10) is the opinion of the grading company shown with the card, not of JP Lumina. We don't guarantee that another grader, or the same grader on a new assessment, would arrive at the same grade. The certificate number is shown with the product; feel free to check it with the grader. Small scratches on the plastic case are normal and not a defect. If the slab is opened or damaged, the grade no longer applies, and on withdrawal we may deduct that reduction in value.
083D-printed products (in-house production)
JP Lumina designs and manufactures unique TCG accessories (such as slab stands, deck boxes, and displays) using advanced 3D-printing technology (Bambu Lab).
- Characteristics of 3D printing: minor structural variations, visible layer lines, or slight colour differences are inherent to the 3D-printing process and are not considered manufacturing defects.
- Safety warning: our 3D-printed items are designed as display accessories and collectibles. They are not toys for young children and may contain small parts that pose a choking hazard.
09The Lumina tools
The Lumina Dex, Lumina Collection (including the card scanner), Lumina Wishlist, the Lumina Binder, the Lumina Colouring Book and the Lumina DeckBuilder are free. We build them ourselves, and they are in active, ongoing development. That is why we provide them as is and as available.
- No guarantee. We do our best, but we don't guarantee that a tool is always available, works without errors or does what you expect of it. We may change a tool or feature, switch it off for a while (for example for maintenance) or discontinue it, also without notice.
- Card scanner. Recognition happens on your own device and can be wrong — for example about the variant (holo, reverse holo) or the set. Always check a recognised card yourself. If you trade, buy or sell something based on a scan, that is your decision and your risk.
- Your collection and wishlist. What you keep in your account — your collection, wishlist, binders and decks — remains yours. We make regular backups, but cannot guarantee that data will never be lost. So keep a copy yourself every now and then: in your account under Privacy you can download everything in one file.
- Fair use. The tools are for normal, personal use. You may not read the site or the Lumina Dex automatically (scraping), copy its data, or put so much load on the site that others are affected. If an account does, we may limit or block it.
- DeckBuilder. The DeckBuilder checks your deck against the rules of Standard, Expanded and Gym Leader Challenge. That is an aid, not an official ruling: at a tournament the rules of The Pokémon Company apply and the Head Judge decides. We are not liable if a deck turns out not to be legal at a tournament, or for a disqualification.
- Sharing. If you share a deck by link, anyone with that link can see it (without your name). You can revoke the link at any time.
- Colouring pages, binder sheets and proxies are for strictly personal, non-commercial use only: the card names, card texts and images belong to The Pokémon Company. You may not sell or distribute them or put them on another website. Proxies are for testing at home — not for sale or trade, and not for official tournaments.
- Liability. Because the tools are free, we are not liable for damage resulting from their use, or from a tool being unavailable, containing an error or losing data — except in case of intent or gross negligence on our part.
10Lumina Dex data
The Lumina Dex is a free, independent reference. We update it by hand, and set lists, card details, images and availability may lag behind or contain errors. Prices in the Dex are an indication based on public market data (such as the Cardmarket price guide) at the time we last updated the Dex: not a live price, not a valuation, and not advice to buy, sell or invest. The price in our shop is the price you pay when you buy from us. No rights can be derived from the contents of the Lumina Dex.
11Liability and force majeure
When you buy a product from us, your statutory rights always apply: the product must be what you could reasonably expect (conformity), and you have your cooling-off period. Nothing in these terms takes that away.
- If we are liable nonetheless, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
- We are not liable for indirect damage, such as consequential loss, lost profit or a missed opportunity.
- Value of collectibles. The market value of cards and sealed product goes up and down. What something is worth later is no ground for a complaint or compensation, and nothing on this site is investment advice.
- These limitations do not apply if the damage is caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of JP Lumina, nor to personal injury.
- Force majeure. If we cannot meet an obligation because of something beyond our control — an outage at our hosting, payment provider or carrier, a manufacturer or distributor that delivers late, less or nothing at all, extreme weather, illness or a strike — we are not liable for it. If that lasts longer than 30 days, either of us may cancel the order; anything you already paid will be refunded.
12Auctions
Besides the shop, you can bid on a lot in an online auction (Lumina Auctions). These terms apply to auctions, with the arrangements in this article; where this article says something different, this article applies to auctions. By law an online auction is not a public auction: as a consumer you therefore keep your 14-day right of withdrawal (see Right of withdrawal above).
- Who may bid. Bidding is for 18 and over, with your own account that meets the requirements shown with the auctions — including a confirmed e-mail address, a delivery address in a country we ship to and a previous, paid order with us. You bid for yourself and with one account. How high you may bid (your bidding limit) depends on what you've bought from us before; you'll see it with the auction.
- Your 18+ declaration. With your declaration you state that you are 18 or older. If that isn't true, we may remove your bids and dissolve a purchase; anything you paid is refunded.
- JP Lumina doesn't bid. We, our staff and nobody on our behalf bid on our own auctions.
- A bid is binding. With a bid you offer to buy the lot for that amount, plus shipping. Bids can't be withdrawn. If you've clearly made a mistake, such as a typo, e-mail us straight away: we can then remove the bid, but we're not obliged to. You'll see a removed bid on the auction and in My auctions.
- Automatic bidding. If you set a maximum, we bid for you, always as little as needed to stay on top, up to that maximum. Nobody sees your maximum, not even us while the auction runs. In case of an equal bid, whoever bid first wins.
- Bid increments, the end time and the extension. A new bid must be at least one increment higher; the increments are shown with the auction. If someone bids in the last minutes, the auction runs longer. What counts is the moment your bid reaches our server, by our server's clock and not your device's. A bid that arrives after the end doesn't count.
- Reserve price. A lot can have a reserve price. If the highest bid stays below it, the lot isn't sold and you pay nothing.
- Description and photos. We describe every lot as accurately as we can. If there's no photo of the actual item, the image is an example of the card or product; the condition is then stated in the description. Small colour differences due to your screen are not a defect.
- Won. If you win, the sale is concluded for your highest bid and you receive an e-mail confirmation and an order in your account. You pay the bid plus shipping within the period shown with the auction (24 hours by default), using the payment methods we offer through Mollie. Prices include VAT; the margin scheme applies to second-hand cards. We ship after your payment, just like in the shop.
- Not paid, or passed. If you don't pay in time, or choose "I'll pass" yourself, the sale lapses. We don't charge for that, but it counts as unpaid: anyone who does this repeatedly can no longer bid. We may then offer the lot to a next bidder or put it back in the shop. Your statutory right of withdrawal still applies alongside this.
- Second chance. If the winner doesn't pay or passes, we can offer the lot to a next bidder, for that bidder's own highest bid and with the same payment period — as long as that bid meets the reserve price, and to no more than three people in total. That's an offer: you've only bought it once you pay. If you pass or let the offer lapse, there are no consequences and it goes to the next bidder.
- Abuse. Bidding without intending to buy, bidding to push up the price for someone else, arrangements with other bidders, multiple accounts or a false 18+ declaration are not allowed. We may then remove bids, have an auction recalculated or stop it, and exclude you from auctions; we may dissolve a purchase, refunding what you paid.
- Stopping an auction, and mistakes. We may stop an auction before it ends — for example if a card turns out to be damaged when we check it, gets lost or was entered incorrectly, or in case of an obvious error in the price or description. Anyone who bid is told and pays nothing. If after the end it turns out we can't deliver the lot, or not in the described condition, we dissolve the sale and refund what you paid; there's no further compensation in that case.
- Outages. If you couldn't bid or pay (in time) because of an outage, maintenance, a lost connection or an e-mail that didn't arrive, that gives no right to the lot or to compensation. What's shown in your account under My auctions prevails.
- Withdrawal and warranty. The usual arrangements on withdrawal, warranty and complaints in these terms apply to a won lot. On withdrawal we refund your bid and the standard shipping costs; the cost of sending it back is yours. If a slab has been opened or damaged, or a sealed product opened, we may deduct that reduction in value.
- Liability. The article Liability and force majeure above also applies to auctions.
13Intellectual property
- Lumina Dex: the database structure, code, and design of the Lumina Dex are the intellectual property of JP Lumina.
- Trademarks: "Pokémon", Pokémon set names, and card artwork are the intellectual property of Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and Game Freak (The Pokémon Company). JP Lumina is an independent entity and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by The Pokémon Company.
14Governing law
Dutch law applies to these terms and to every sale by JP Lumina. If you buy as a consumer, this never limits the protection that the mandatory law of your own country gives you. Disputes are brought before the competent Dutch court.
